Day 7 - Liverpool

Today is devoted to The Beatles.
First we're off to the Beatles Story Museum. This was an incredible museum with all sorts of fascinating Beatles trivia. You were even allowed to take pictures! We spent a couple of hours here, with each of us wandering off on our own.

I could just keep adding pictures but I won't.

Time to go wandering to find a place for lunch and then back to pick up the Magical Mystery Tour Bus from Albert Dock.

Time for the magical Mysterey Bus tour. This was a lot of fun, the guides were amazing. We purchased "our ticket to ride" online.

Paul's house

Strawberry Field was a Salvation Army children's home in Woolton, a suburb of Liverpool, England.

The name of the home became world famous in 1967, with the release of The Beatles single "Strawberry Fields Forever", written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Lennon grew up near the home and used to play in the wooded area, which Lennon nicknamed in the plural, "Strawberry Fields",[

McCartney and Lennon grew up in the area and they would meet at Penny Lane junction in the Mossley Hill area to catch a bus into the centre of the city.

The roundabout where they would meet was Sgt Pepper's.

We were dropped off at the Cavern Club - see Thirsty Tuesday this week.

We then spent some time wandering about Liverpool and came across this very disturbing statue of Queen Victoria, I mean I knew she was tough, but...

Off to find some more Beatles trivia, the pub they used to play The Jacaranda for a drink.

However, the clientele on a Friday at 5pm didn't appeal to us, so we went next door.

Time to head back to for dinner. Check out the next installment on Thursday's Tastes.
